Summer Camps

Join us for nature and soul-based summer day camps and backcountry trips in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our programs offer girls the chance to build sisterhood, explore the outdoors, and grow through hands-on experiences.

Gaia Girls summer camps offer girls a chance to step away from screens and into the beauty of the natural world. Through nature-based day camps and backcountry trips, participants build confidence, resilience, and lasting friendships. Each day is filled with hands-on activities like nature games, crafting, and skill-building exercises that encourage curiosity and self-discovery. Girls learn to trust their instincts, work as a team, and feel at home in the outdoors. These experiences are designed to nurture the whole girl, helping her grow into a confident, connected young woman who knows her own strength and worth.

The Artemis Day Camp in the East Bay provides a supportive space where girls can explore nature and deepen their connection to themselves and each other. Age-appropriate groups allow for mentoring that meets each girl where she is, fostering emotional intelligence alongside outdoor skills. Activities include hiking, storytelling, plant identification, and creative projects that spark imagination and reflection. Girls leave with a greater sense of belonging and a toolkit of practices for navigating life with courage and compassion. This camp is part of a larger village of support that celebrates each girl's unique journey.

Backcountry trips offer older girls the chance to challenge themselves in the wild landscapes of the Bay Area, including the Santa Cruz Mountains and Point Reyes. These multi-day adventures teach essential outdoor skills like navigation, campcraft, and teamwork, all within a framework of soul-based mentoring. Girls discover their inner resilience as they hike, cook, and sleep under the stars together. The experience builds a deep sense of sisterhood and personal accomplishment that lasts long after the trip ends. It is a rite of passage that honors each girl's growing independence and connection to the earth.

Beyond summer, Gaia Girls Passages offers year-round after-school groups and community circles that continue the journey of growth and connection. These programs weave together nature exploration, emotional intelligence, and creative expression to support girls through every season of life. Whether learning about edible plants, practicing mindfulness, or sharing stories in circle, girls find a consistent, nurturing community. The work is rooted in the belief that thriving girls become whole women, and that every girl deserves a space where she can be seen, heard, and celebrated for who she is.
